At one time something like that would have been pricy, but these days those types of big screens are pretty cheap, especially in the context of the overall project budget. That said, I wouldn't complain if they left it out.
To try and steer us back on course, has anyone heard anything about the screen in the plaza? I was under the impression it ought to be open by now

Skipthedishes moving to True North Square

Skipthedishes, the Winnipeg-based food delivery/technology company, is moving into four and a half floors of True North Square's office tower.
The company that started in Winnipeg with a handful of people in 2012, now has about 2,000 employees who are spread out over three locations in the East Exchange. It will retain some operations at 140 Bannatyne, but the rest of the staff will move into about 95,000 square feet of space at 242 Hargrave St. by the end of next year.
The company was acquired by U.K.-based Just Eat three years ago. Skipthedishes CEO, Kevin Edwards, said, "As part of the Just Eat Group, we are proud to not only support our Canadian business, but also drive the global food delivery industry from right here in Winnipeg.”
The company also has smaller offices in Saskatoon, Calgary and Toronto.
With Ceridian, Wawanesa and Skip moving to True North, this has to be the biggest absorption of AA/A class with companies graduating from b/c class space. Interesting changes. I wonder what will happen with the glut of space in those classes.

Skip has rapidly grown from inception in 2012 as a small startup in the Prairies to a leading Canadian tech organization. Currently spread across three buildings in Winnipeg’s East Exchange District, Skip will consolidate teams at their new True North Square headquarters in December 2020, while still maintaining a second Winnipeg location at 140 Bannatyne Ave. for their 24/hr operations team. Skip also currently maintains additional Canadian offices in Calgary, Saskatoon and Toronto.
The new office space for SkipTheDishes will take advantage of all the outstanding amenities and expansive floor plates available at True North Square, providing best-in-class work spaces for Skip and their employees, customizable to their unique technology needs. SkipTheDishes employees will now soon work in a Class A LEED Gold office environment at True North Square.
^ Whoops, got 'em mixed up. So by my math, 242 Hargrave would basically have portions roughly equalling one full floor broken up into three separate chunks left. Not bad.
That also leaves 4 floors in 223 Carlton, but the floorplate there is much smaller. Two floors is less than one floor at 242. So the equivalent to a little less than 2 floors at 242 left in 223.
