This design looks really nice. Would like nice if it was 1000 ft by Michigan ave looking over Grant Park. Jeez replace this for 1000M

Two 50-story residential towers could weigh on Fulton Market infrastructure, residents worry

Ally Marotti
Chicago Tribune
January 31, 2018

Quote:
In an area rich with meatpacking history that unfolded in squat brick buildings, Fulton Market district residents have apprehensions about two proposed residential towers that each could rise more than 50 stories.

It’s not the height that concerns neighborhood groups the most. It’s the new people the projects would bring to an area already crowded with employees at companies like Google, co-working space WeWork and investment fund and incubator Sandbox Industries.

But all those people working and dining in the neighborhood is just what's attracting apartment and condominium developers.

“We think it’s a very attractive place to live and we wanted to design the nicest buildings both for sale and for rent,” said Curt Bailey, president of Related Midwest, the company behind both buildings.

This one is pretty nice though I have to admit I like 900 W Randolph more, but neither are boring. Fuck it - build them both at the heights they are proposed at.

Neighbors can worry all they want, but this one is getting approved as is, almost guaranteed. The other one, while I want to get built has its work cut out for it. Here's to the future of the West Loop Ladies and Gents.

Wow! Love it! Looks like its going to be triangular in shape, which is pretty unique, especially for a residential tower. I love the sharp corners and gridded outline. Looks very industrial and imposing. A perfect addition to the Kennedy canyon.

Yep, its east of Halsted. Plenty of precedence in allowing such a project. Will it even require a zoning change?

This is my favorite proposal, in my opinion it tops every single one over the past year. I may be over exaggerating. But a tower like this could totally work west of Grant Park. Little bit taller and you got yourself a master piece. Other than that it's nice seeing the west loop becoming into a mid-rise neighborhood just like river north over the past couple decades. I can totally see River North blending in with the loop (skyline wise) over the next 2 decades or so.

Yes, a slight one. The property has two different zoning classifications currently, and they want to bring that all under one.
