La Grande Residence at The Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver is well known for celebrities staying there when filming movies in and around the city.

Mmmmmm that’s nice. They can do similar things with the to-be-completed Sutton here

Most NHL teams stay at the Delta, if not all. I see the blues bus outside right now.

^ You sure that isn't a CN bus heading to Transcona?

Pretty sure. Every game day morning and about 3-4pm there's buses. Fans gather sometimes.

CN has a bus painted up with their logo and colours. This is a rental, usually the same bus or two buses.

Anyone know when excavation will start on Sutton Place? Equipment and fencing has been sitting there for weeks with no action.

I was just going to post something similar. Seems like they mobilized to site. But I haven't seen the piling rigs move very much. There's a loader bumping around out there right now.

When the Ducks were here with Selanne they stayed at the Fairmont. When Patrick Roy was the Avs coach they were at the Fairmont. When the Habs were here years ago and Subban was scatched I personally saw him walking from the Fairmont to the arena. I know someone who works at the new TD branch in Winnipeg Square and he routinely sees players walking from the Fairmont. So no, not all teams stay at the Delta.

Pretty sure NHL players are regularly seen at The Fairmont and at the Tim Horton's in the Richardson Building.

Never heard of a team staying at the Delta but wouldn't surprise me. Used to be where some touring acts would stay if not staying at the Fairmont.

I would guess majority of NHL teams stay at the Fairmont. Driving through P&M several times a day, I don't know how many teams I've seen game days coming out of Fairmont, jumping on or off the bus, walking, taking photos, etc... Saw 4 Pens jaywalking over the barriers last week.

Ya maybe they do. I know years ago Crosby walked down Portage to get to the rink. Like I said though, I regularly see the buses at Delta. For example, when Vegas was in town last season, Reaves and co walked down Hargrave to the rink. Also see team staff and that regularly in City Place getting coffee or just walking through.

I don't think they're bound to stay at either hotel. Just my observations.

I'll post a photo of the bus later today if (when) it happens. They sit angled on St. Mary blocking the parking lane.

Imagine a NHL player getting hit by a car crossing P&M. I wonder how that would sway public opinion.

WHAT?! HOCKEY PLAYERS, GETTING INJURED?! SHUT DOWN P&M TO CARS!!!

I can imagine how things will look even nicer when the metal sheets cladding is finally on there

The cladding itself will shout high quality. Imagine when the sun shines the metal sheets and the reflection from that

That side of the apartment tower resembles the shape of Manitoba, so it’d be like “Sun shines on Manitoba”.

Oh and I’d also like to add that even though the Delta looks like a Soviet building, it’s likely there aren’t many buildings constructed in the Soviet Union back then that still look as good as Delta today

^ you'd be surprised

https://socialistmodernism.com/

also, the reason they wouldn't look as good today is because all the countries are now capitalist and have been in economic and social ruin since 91

Lol I wouldn’t say all the countries, but it’s true that the devastation of USSR is still there today

Hmm the buildings shown should be preserved. It seems that the construction quality varies among them

Some look great. That “Cinema Kosmos” in Tallinn, Estonia must have been well revitalized. Same goes to Park Inn Berlin.
