Have to agree, had the guy played for the Jets and they had won a Stanley Cup yes, born here and playing for another NHL team no.

At least they just named it Toews Lake and not Jonathan Toews Lake.

Nothing is more annoying than streets and other places with full names. Especially when the people are still alive and could still become a drug addict, criminal or cult leader in the future.

Excellent observation..you never know what the future will bring...another topic/thread but I always wondered what the motivation behind giving Gene Simmons the Key to the City was...?...Anyway..

Lol yeah there's a lot of lakes no doubt. No problem with Toews. Great player. But doesn't deserve that until he turns at least 25. Lol kidding maybe when he is retired, etc. Not at 23 or whatever. Lots of other people in line before him.

Even at home I'll tend to use LTE as I find it faster than my WiFi. We dont have the best internet though, but still Lte is quicker.

Most people with tablets and laptops do not have them connected to an LTE network.

Also, unless I absolutely NEED LTE speeds I would rather using someone else's WiFi instead of chewing through my data plan.

one story i'm surprised hasn't gotten any press is the move of the payworks headquarters from Pembina and taylor to a former MB hydro building on Waverley. the company went from a single-storey somewhat strip mall-looking building to quite a large two-storey building that seems to have gotten a complete renovation job. good news for a local success story. of course I gotta say: too bad it wasn't downtown, but at least they're still expanding in Winnipeg

Firm eyes city for call centre; has job fair

By: Martin Cash

Posted: 11/9/2013 1:00 AM

"A call-centre company is prospecting in Winnipeg to see if there's enough interest from job-seekers to staff a 500-seat centre.

P.E.I.-based Hinduja Global Solutions Canada Inc. (HGS Canada) will hold a job fair at the end of the month to see whether the Winnipeg labour market can fill 500-plus positions that would include front-line customer-service associates, support and management-level positions."

Thanks for posting that, kattiff. Unlike domestic airline passengers, I wouldn't think that very many Delta customers would be familiar with Winnipeg... it's pretty good exposure for the city.
