Montréal Road Station progress. The station will be the next stop after the Confederation Line's current terminus at Blair, once Stage 2 east opens in 2024. The rail line will run in the median of highway 174. The video gives an idea of the work that will be done to build the east extension.

They just restarted construction monday after a provincial hiatus in construction since March 23rd, so there wasn't any progress since then.

If you want to see updates, go to mtlurb.com in the transportation section, there is a sub-section dedicated to the REM with threads for each branch where people post pictures.

The REM page on Facebook posts a lot of pictures also.

New Trillium Line 2 trains livery and interior. I know we had a livery thread, but it won't come up when I search for it.

Double tracking will stretch from Bayview to Beech Street which is very much like what is shown in the "sample" data on GeoOttawa. Rock blasting is described as taking place "between Carling and Gladstone" so there may still be hope for enough rock to be blasted so that there is room for a future second platform... Otherwise I'm mostly worried about how the Brookfield siding will look compared to what's on GeoOttawa since that was apparently shortened by TNEXT in the proposal.

This is apparently the finalized livery for the FLIRTs. I still prefer the original one that Stadler came up with, but this does look like an improvement over the last one they showed (the red is nicer).

The interior... could be worse. I was hoping for more grab poles, but the vehicle body looks wider and the handles attached to the seats do look marginally more inviting than the ones on both the LINTs and Citadis.

Neat display screens too.

The Quebec City Tramway (22km, 35 stations) appears to be out to tender, from what I see on ConstructConnect. The contract will be for a design/build delivery.

I still can't believe another shutdown of the O-Train and they still won't double track the entire thing, such a waste...

That is disappointing. Stage 2 will double track between Bayview station and Beach (just south of the Queensway), so that's progress. The Carling underpass is too narrow so they can't double track. No idea how long it will be before the Carling overpass needs to be replaced.

They will need to double track at some point considering future volumes at Carling station, with thousands of residential units proposed, along with a major trauma centre (the new Civic) planned across the street.

The presentation today mentioned rock blasting "between Carling and Gladstone" so hopefully that means they will widen the trench all the way to Carling Avenue in anticipation for future double tracking to the Dow's Lake tunnel.

Anytime. There's a lot going on and it's really exciting, but it's easy to lose track of a whole bunch of projects. I'm excited to see more Canadian cities eventually join the fold and invest in LRT systems.

Also, your start dates for the Yonge line and Scarborough subway are off.

The Scarborough subway is expected to see tunneling work begin in sping/summer 2021. the tunneling RFQ closes in a few weeks.

https://www.toronto.com/news-story/9...vid-19-crisis/

While a specific start date for the Yonge Line isn't available, I imagine it will be late 2021/early 2022, as it is planned to be completed in 2029/2030.

And I sure enjoy those puns about rail projects.
