I'm pretty sure some sort of a facial piercing is a prerequisite to getting a job at Stella's.

Since we're on the topic of 24 hour businesses, would a 7-Eleven work in the SHED. We are the slurpee capital of the world, after all. Plus the nachos at 2:30 in the morning hits the spot after an evening of revelry sometimes.

I would think so. There are cool downtown 7-11s around.

It's funny because Winnipeg seems to be the only city I've been to that doesn't have 2-storey McDonalds. It's almost mandatory in Europe and even the States, even if they're not in busy areas of big cities.

And Cora's is honestly barely any better then Sals. It is just awful. Stella's is fine dining in comparison.

Also I think a 7-11 would do well in just about any area. They do carry a lot of basic necessities. The one by me has cottage cheese, fruit, etc. I think it'd be a money machine in TNS.

There were a number of the older stores that had multiple levels. They've all been demolished and replaced by the McDonalds standard small store. The only one that is slightly fancy is the one at Henderson and Chief Peguis. That ones a throwback design.

Yes on St. James, across from Polo. I was just thinking about that one too.

Yes, and there were other split-level locations too... I'm thinking of the one on McPhillips.

Anyway, drove by TNS today and construction is really humming now... the pit is filled with construction equipment and the shoring is almost finished. It looks impressive even at this early stage.

^It does look impressive. I get a decent look from my office. Looks really cool when the sun is shining bright on the shoring. Really gives a sense of the deep hole. Haven't really got a good look lately, but I think they're working on caissons down in the hole.

I can get try and get one in a bit. Kind of dark today, so not the greatest. I posted a couple photos some pages back. I can only see a portion of the site from my vantage point. But will def get a good look at the tower 1 going up. Tower 2 might be blocked by tower 1.

I also asked the TNS twitter feed if they'd be updating the picture on the website. Never got anything back.

Yeah, not the best day for photos but if I can make it over there with my trusty old Kodak Instamatic maybe I'll snap a photo or two from the skywalk this evening.

The reality is that we're never going to be a truly world class city until we get a two-level McDonald's.

Sorry, the city met that requirement when IKEA was built.

The McDonalds by polo had a merry go round in the basement. Always used to go there after going to Athlete's World 3.

I miss the McD's gimmicks. Pembina had the caboose (I wonder what ever happened to it). Fort Richmond had the old fashioned Carriage. Grant Park had a pirate ship I think.
