I work in that building, happy to see bustling lunch hours at 529 Uptown, personally, I don't spend that $. Maybe special occasion one day.

529 Burger in concourse was good, but tough justifying $14 for a small fish burger. Very basic menu only 4 burgers and 1 size fries and shakes.

The restaurant + lounge + patio is so large that I'm skeptical on any local, non-institution being able to make it there. Plus that instagram ad is absolute low-budget garbage and makes me not even want to waste the time checking it out. I give them six months.

Just tear the place down already.

Just the name of the place will keep us away. We were excited for Friskee Pearl until we saw that the menu didn't live up to the concept.

^ yes they are, personally it's not the same as original as it's a sit down. yeah same menu, but not nearly the same atmosphere.

and if any of you visit the BDI original location, be nice to my kid!

Interesting location for a concept like that. I hope it works out.

Edit: they won't be at Main and Jefferson, the address on the website is 1763 Henderson Hwy.

The Villa! Not the most glamorous location. But definitely a local staple. I will go check it out. Sounds interesting.

Re: BDI. When you said scoops north main. I thought of the place north of Chief Peguis (9 below). Jefferson isn't really north main, but we can argue semantics about that.

North-ish Main? Yeah it's all semantics. For some people anything north of Rupert Ave. is the "north end", with all it's associated charms.

The Little Eggplant has added a restaurant/deli in addition to their food truck. It opened yesterday at 1853 Main Street. I haven’t tried the restaurant yet, but I have enjoyed my visits to the food truck.

I hit this bakery every weekend. Eat their bread only now. Quebecois bread with walnuts and cranberries is delicious!

Weren't they bought out by a non-French family? Is it still as high of quality?

It was Epi de Bly. They sold it and it became Mithi Bread. I don’t know if it is a third owner or if the second owner decided to change it from Mithi Bread.

Easy to get mixed up. The family that opened Scoops had their first location on Main just north of Chief Peguis. They then opened a second location with the same name at Main and Jefferson.
