Beauty in the mist! A cloudy, grey day can’t hide the majestic beauty of One Vanderbilt. The 100-foot spire re-installed, One Vanderbilt now rises to its full height of 1,401 feet tall. With the curtain wall complete and the crane dismantled (HT: @nycconstructors ), this soaring New York icon is edging ever close to completion.

The supertall structure makes a tremendous addition to the city’s skyline, and will certainly become a New York landmark along with other iconic buildings such as the Empire State Building, The Chrysler Building, and the rising cityscape of Hudson Yards. Banker Steel is incredibly humbled and honored to have had the opportunity to participate in such an endeavor!

they're testing the spire lights tonight, no crown yet. Lightning storms up north, a very cool backdrop on earthcam. https://www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork...?cam=midtown4k

edit: that blue glow is coming from the crown. First test.

No crown lighting yet, but still cool. I don't remember the blinking before.

I see a reflection of a light show, or maybe they're setting up here. ESB is red tonight, so it's not that. Not BofA most likely. The light show is on the western facade.

its not a reflection, it lit up alongside the spire. I assume they're conducting tests and its not the full luminosity. They had the spire at a lower luminosity earlier this evening.

Yeah, I saw that they were doing it on one side (the western side). They'll be able to do the animated shows like the ESB. I wasn't expecting that, but shouldn't be surprised. I would like to see the two towers go all out and battle. Meanwhile, 30 Hudson has been doing light shows of its own.
