Meanwhile, while they're calling WPS on little Timmy & their family playing hockey, theres probably someone wandering around the complex high off meth, trying to find a way to get themselves freebies, or trying to scare people out of the building, at the same time these guards are cleaning out a public square of families with children... which was a funding condition for the City of Winnipeg, to begin with.

These guards are idiots lol. Whose the security company for TNS? If its the same one that lets people enter the U of W, panhandling in the halls & stabbing students over laptops (Securitas?), then that might actually explain TNS security. 110%.

Clear house and hire somebody new...?

At least they didn't have their demonstration at Portage and Main. Although that would have been allowable. The ruts in the asphalt are no good for street hockey anyway.

No it wouldn’t have been allowable, disrupting traffic, railways or anything else is only allowed if our entitled bunch are involved, for everyone else it’s called breaking the law!

For those keeping score at home "entitled bunch" is the racist dog whistle rrskylar uses whenever he wants to be racist about indigenous people.

LOL! How true. Here's a fancy description for anyone who is interested:

And here's the abridged version: "I know you are but what am I?"

How is stating fact being racist? Name another group that can continually break laws without ramifications, treating a certain group with kid gloves is in itself racist. We can’t treat them equally because we don’t consider them equal is what politicians and govt. continually perpetuate!

Well 90% of people incarcerated in Manitoba are indigenous so I'm not sure what "group" you're talking about but it's obviously not natives. Nice try boomer.

You're right. I forgot about all those news reports of the remand busting at the with all the people arrested for blocking P & M when the bombers won the GC, Jets won a playoff series, Jets came back, etc. etc.

Attending the Jets game last night it looked like the site was all at ground level now. Maybe Winnipeg Grump can take another fantastic shot from above.

All right, all right. Sorry for being negligent in my duties.

As was pointed out, they're not exactly moving at 'git'r done and on to the next one!' pace, are they?

^There are different ways of counting, but if you look at all adult admissions to custody in Manitoba in 2017-2018 (the most recent year for which data is available) 75% of admissions were Indigenous. Ten years earlier, it was 65% in MB.

https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/.../tbl04-eng.htm

The media have reported, based on provincial data, that 90% of "kids in care" in MB are Indigenous.

probably not the thread for this. But what is the population change of First Nations in MB between 07 and 17? There were 10,000 more FN incarcerated per year over that span. That's staggering.

You know, it seems like this thing is taking at least as long as 300 Main. It's been a hole in the ground for how long? When is it at least going to hit the surface?

It has hit the surface. There is rebar above grade now, although I'm not sure that any of them are taller than me as yet

The worksite is a beehive though, lots of people and equipment humming along every day.

A guy I know worked on that site and he quit because it was a shit show. Management was garbage from what I heard. That's anecdotal opinion from one person. So take it for what you will.

Who is building Sutton Place? I agree, it seems like it has taken forever to get out of the ground. Longer than it should take. I know its being talked about a bit in the 300 Main thread right now, but it seems like the high-rise projects happening in Winnipeg are running into all sorts of problems and delays that I don't see happening elsewhere.
