Wow! This is going to be incredible in Saskatoon! What are people's thoughts on the overall development? The Office buildings are surprisingly quite exciting.

I'm more optimistic now that the excavation & shoring are actually underway. I also believe that the smaller office tower on the east side of the site will commence in 2017. Just keep in mind the disclaimer on the rendering "Artist Rendering for information purposes only; final product may not be exactly as shown".

Given enough time, I think it will all get built. However, I wonder if the public plaza with the reflecting pool will proceed prior to the construction of the north office tower? If it doesn't, then we may still have a somewhat unfinished development for many years.

I'm not sure why the original condo tower was axed but, now if they were to resurrect the original condo tower on the east side of the property..

..they would have 2/3rds of the RiverLanding property sold in probably a few days and then they could concentrate all their remaining efforts on getting tenants into a single 34 storey office building

One thing that's interesting about the east tower is that based on its location on the site it will create something of a terminated vista for 3rd Avenue looking from the north. I'm excited to see how the view down that street will change.

08/01/2017 Update:

Also of note, the construction fence has been extended to enclose the entire River Landing site, not just the hotel/condo portion.

It's supposed to be a 4 level parakade. Looks like a lot of work to do in order to be done by the end of July (at least that's the completion date that I recall).

Frankly, it doesn't look like they've been making very good progress on this to date. Not a lot to show for 2-1/2 months on site.

Foundations/excavations always seem to take forever.

Thanks for all the construction updates SaskE30. I know they submitted to the MVA on December second for construction approval of the East tower. Maybe they are getting ready to build the next one too?

I have to admit I was not overly impressed with the first renderings of the East Office tower...was just "ok" in my humble opinion. But now that I have looked through the above document I am quite excited about the potential for this project in its use of materials, non-box like construction, use of rooftop surfaces and patios and integration with the plaza. I hope that the expanded fencing around the site does in fact mean that this tower will be started soon!

thanks SASkE30 looks like work is progressing pretty good, being in the construction industry I know how long it takes to get foundations done. Working on industrial projects foundations seem to go a little faster but afterwards seems to take longer than the residential projects.

To be honest come back in say 6 months for a decent update. I would say at least that long if not longer to get up to street level. Then it should really start shooting up.

Lots of action on site this morning and significant progress has been made over the past week so I thought I'd post a couple pictures from this morning:

They have excavated down to the second level of tiebacks to allow for their installation.

At this rate, the excavation of the condo and hotel towers will reach the bottom before Capital Pointe in Regina. Despite the other project having almost a year head start. (although, the excavation for Capital Pointe is deeper and on a more difficult site.)
