Winnipeg and Manitoba (ALL Purpose Photo Thread)

Post pictures, images and links to photos taken in Manitoba.

This is an all purpose catch all thread for the many photos taken by so many excellent photographers, casual picture takers or others who just want to post an image taken in Manitoba.. Most photos would go unnoticed or would not fall into any one particular thread category, or would have a small specific thread dedicated to it.

Images of small towns, lakefront cottages, trips to Churchill or trips to the Falcon Lake.
Provincial parks,Camping in Waskada, Winnipeg's diverse neighborhoods or pictures of oil country around Virden. Pictures of your town or city in Manitoba,(no skyline needed), North, South ,East or West.etc.etc.... Post your Manitoba pictures.

Loved these sculptures when they lined Broadway and still do.

Here's my Best of Winnipeg Love Hate set. Some of you may have seen it, as it's been making the rounds lately after someone posted it on Reddit.

This might be a good opportunity for a shameless plug. My new book, Stuck In The Middle: Dissenting Views of Winnipeg is due out November 1. The book consists of my photos, text by Bartley Kives, and a foreword by John K. Samson. I think a lot of the regulars around here are going to like it. It deals with many of the issues that frequently get discussed here, such as the city's magnificent stock of turn-of-the-century, mid-century and contemporary architecture, as well as the city's uneven record of historic preservation. The book also explores Winnipeg's past misadventures in city planning, as well as its love affair with the megaproject.

Congrats on the photos added !

Your winter scenes, frost on the trees and the elm canopy tunnel are frame worthy.

I really need a better camera

Wow - bryanscott - some great pictures there.

Love that elm canopy shot TV. It sucks that many streets, especially in Wolseley could look that good, if they would just do a bit of tree pruning. Right now, the canopy looks a bit haphazard.

^ Love blk/white shots, especially when used with older and/or historical buildings. Nice set of photos.

To be fair I've been walking by that location for 3 years now and I've only ever seen homeless using those benches. Since their removal I have not seen any homeless on Albert. Its an upgrade by subtraction IMO.

Its too bad they had to remove them tho, that would have been a beautiful spot to sit and have some lunch.

Amazing pictures everyone! I love this thread already!

Damn Shame, is it just this location or all around the exchange? I have a dozen photos using the benches archived. All they need is a little TLC, I'd grab a few if I new where they went? Storage..scrap?
