Holy shit. I am something of a language expert but that's a new one for me.

Maybe they could further solidify their position as Canada's team by bilingualizing their logo?

Or maybe an alternative uniform like they do in the NHL? Think of the merchandising potential!

And here I was expecting this thread to have more James Bond. How disappointing.

They did have one of Canada's greatest francophone baseball players of his era, Max Poulin... retired his number and everything. Is Raymond Lebrun still around? They can call a few games on RDS!

I nominate you for program host.

The Goldeneyes have a world-class quality and universal appeal you just don't find outside of the minor baseball teams of the Winnipegs, New Yorks, and Tokyos of the world. Every Canadian at least secretly obsesses over them to some degree, but out of jealousy and petty spite some pretend to pay attention to other sports teams as well. This will probably go away if Brandon is added to the Winnipeg CMA, consolidating its position at the heart of the Winnipeg-Toronto-Calgary megacorridor.

Thank you for your confidence!

Raymond Lebrun is still around. He's about 75-80 years old.

I think he might do the occasional short weekend sportscast for Radio-Canada out of Montreal.

To anyone just joining in this thread that started in the Canada subforum, I have to confess I didn't really intend for this to be a serious discussion about baseball... although I suppose nothing is preventing that from happening...

Playoff baseball tonight!

(I have to admit I'd be a little more pumped if the team had a different owner)
