I seem to recall that this was all considered when the height zoning variation was approved by the Planning Commission and Council.

The tallest of the 4 buildings will be behind the others.

Wont be the tallest forever. Plus, 95m isnt that tall to begin with, and what mistakes of which other cities?

I know there is uncertainty in this forum about the height but I am pretty sure it's only going to be approx. 87m, just a couple of meters taller that Mosaic Tower in Regina.

^^^ Above grade columns starting to appear.

^^^ They are clearing out the plaza space. They have been hauling away many truckloads of material. I think in some places they have lowered the ground be 3 feet.

^^^ I tried to capture the "woodgrain" panels on the entrance overhang, but (as I expected) its difficult to see in my cell phone pics.

I have to say that this building has actually turned out even better then the renderings in my opinion. There are so many features I think add to its interest. I really like this addition to our skyline!

What it lacks in height it makes up for in good design, it’s beautiful.

93 m as listed on the title of this thread and confirmed in a couple of places. Don’t know why it keeps getting questioned.

Because it is only 87m on the technical drawing provided to and approved by the MVA. So regardless of what was previously said by news or any other source thats what should happen. These are public so if you want to check for yourself just gotta go to the development section of the MVA website.

Maybe they should put a stylized grain elevator on top of building to get to the 93 metre height!!

Haha, I had always wanted a 44-story concrete and glass tower like Bankers Hall in Calgary, but in the design of a grain elevator to pay homage to a disappearing prairie icon, to be built at the site of River Landing, but actually switch places with the Remai Modern, and have the east branch of the freeway drive underneath the “grain collecting” design portion of the tower.

Fair enough! Thanks for the correction, Crisis.

Small fins being added to the sloping faces of the East Tower. This is good -- they need some texture too and I was worried they were being left as is.

On the MVA plan for Nutrien, these strips were shown as LED strips. Since noticing the fastening spots for these on the East Tower, I'd hoped they would add them to both towers, and now it appears they have!

So it looks like each of the towers will have LED light strips on the downward (inward?) Sloping faces. Cool! Should look super great at night...

I had no idea they were LED?!
I really like the effect during the day with sun, shadows and reflections. IF they are LED, I hope that doesn't look cheap or vegas-like at night....

Yeah, the only place I saw any indication of these strips was on the MVA document for the North/Nutrien tower, and even that document only showed 'LED Strips' on the north-facing side of the tower. The East Tower documents didn't say anything about them.

BUT, I agree. These have the potential to look amazing, if they are LED, or cheap..

We'll see

They are already installed on the smaller office tower, or at least some are. A couple months ago, they had some of them on a couple times when I was going past. They did look pretty cool.

I do like subtle architectural lighting but its easy to get gaudy. Some of the skylines in China look like casinos.

Anyway, it looks like the core is on the way up!

It continues to surprise me how quickly the floors go up once the underground/parkade work is completed!
