Post renderings of projects that never went through in your city that you are glad never got built. Here's a couple of mine.

London Casino: Las Vegas

Tacky and ugly, even by Vegas standards.

Loretto Fallsview: Niagara Falls

We don't need a highrise rendition of Cheesecake Factory Restaurants

West Block Genora: Edmonton

Must I explain myself?

And of course from my city, the legendary Hyatt

Saskatoon dodged some bullets with early proposals for Downtown's south riverfront redevelopment, River Landing. Thankfully much better architecture came to pass.

"Parcel Y", the centerpiece development site of River Landing had several design iterations proposed:

The proposed hotel on the top of Atlantic Place. What was built (the podium and parking garage) is just as offensive, especially given it replaced some of our finest Victorian commercial blocks, but thank God it wasn't this...

Here's Reid Centre that was proposed for Victoria in 1970. As much as I like high-rise buildings, the brutalist architecture and the height of the towers in this location is too much for me. The site remains a parking lot to this day.

That would have been bad. A parking lot at least doesn’t ruin the harbour view.
