Guess that lot isn't getting redeveloped anytime soon then.

I could care less about a “wellness centre” with tons of surface parking. Should’ve been redeveloped into the towers as planned..

There is still space for three towers on the lot, four if Boston Pizza was added. I would imagine this club would make connected apartments very popular.

Agreed. And they could always move the facility into the base of a new tower within that 50 year window.

For sure, the 50-year lease would have a termination clause under certain conditions

The fitness centre is just a temporary use until the redevelopment plan is fully designed and approved, and the market is ready for all these new towers. It could still be a long time away.

This is a long long term vision. Altea Fitness will be an expensive retrofit of the old Canadian Tire so I doubt they would spend all of this money to settle in if the lease or the time horizon for this project was less than 5-10 years.
