fire season has started, 170 fires already in BC and Alberta going. An area near Peace River has been evacuated.

Today was cold and rainy, the forecast on the radio says we won't be seeing warm temps for a while, well into next week highs will be around 12. Booo.

Absolute crap today. So dark this morning it felt like a late December overcast day.

We were able to go to 5C this afternoon once the clouds cleared. Still cold and gusty.

Low was actually achieved at noon. A beautiful 1C with rain (even mixed with some flurries).

The warmspot was Rosetown, SK at 24.1C.

Warmest low was Ashcroft, BC at 11.7C.

Overcast with off and on drizzle and scattered showers.

Wednesday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 12 C, the low was 9 C.

Rained deafeningly hard all night but sunny and 7C now on the morning commute. I can see my breath, though? What could cause that at these temperatures?

Sunny and 12 degrees at 11:30am.

Spring has been unusually nice this year. That makes me very uneasy.

+1C in Moncton at 11 AM and sunny, only getting up to +6C this afternoon.

A cold front went through last night - quite windy and rainy. The temperature dropped precipitously, getting as low as -5C at 7 AM. Apparently there was accumulating snow in northwestern NB overnight.

But it's normal! It also happens in winter in Palermo (especially when there is a lot of humidity) where a few times a year temperatures drop below +7°. It normally happens even with temperatures above +10°

We dropped to 0.8 this morning and it's just 3c at noon in Halifax. It's full on sunny but with a stiff north wind it's unlikely that we'll reach our forecast high of 7c. Yesterday we reached about 16c with calm and sunny conditions. I'm posting a pic of a shrub I walked by last evening. Anyone know what it is?

^ I'm not sure, but I occasionally drive by one of those here in St. John's too which is currently flowering. It always strikes me whenever I see it because it flowers a good month or so before any other bush or tree.

Yesterday, we hit 9C in Peel region, and I went for a 17 mile walk. It began with rain, wind and clouds, and made for a chilly start to the day, but by 1 or so PM, it ws partly, then fully sunny.
I ended up walking to here, which is near the border to Brampton and Mississauga, and is the parkland by Meadowvale Conservation area, right up the 407. There were lots of signs of beavers in the area, with newly felled and older chewed up trees along the Credit.

Dandelions, garlic mustard, grasses, many trees, trout lily and many other plants are growing now

Today is supposed to be the same temperature, and sunny.

The weather has been mostly above freezing over the past month, so I've gotten as close to efficient as I've ever been!

What would mudder think of all the hordes of TFW/students I saw streaming out of High Park this evening and into Bloor West Village fast food chains - noticed a new Texas BBQ place is coming soon next to the gross Harvey's/NY Fries/TH strip.

Garbage night

A sunny but cold day.

9C and sunny. Cold and below average again.

Low of -3C (wind chill of -7) this morning. It is yet another freeze. Latest one in the season since 2020.

The warmspots were Deerwood and Portage, MB at 26.0C.

Warmest low was McCreary, MB at 12.2C

It dipped below freezing at my place overnight. Hopefully that's fine for tulips? The green leaves are about half their full height out of the ground. No stems or flowers yet.

And one pic via FB from yesterday. My morning walk to the grocery or superette My place is out of view off the lower left.
