That photo is way over-saturated, doesn't look nearly that orange in person. More of a burnt orange/copper – and I think it looks great. Plays well off of lots of the red-orange brick in the area.

What a view, from the top and looking down.

That plaza will be bustling in the near future, once this whole project is finished.

Crowds will be looking up at fireworks displays in no time.

On a more positive note, I'm impressed with the amount of green planned for ground level and on top of the podium. Especially combined with the green on top of the nearby Hydro building podium. I hope this is starting a trend.

Considering the water table here has risen drastically in the last 5-10 years, wouldn’t be surprised to see it mandated soon.

Not sure what happened in the summer of 2017 but I watched all of the soil being stripped off the Hydro building raised green spaces in super bags over a few nights then eventually replaced.

Interesting. I wonder if maybe they didn't put down an appropriate kind of grass.

I was thinking that maybe the roof membranes were leaking due to the retained moisture in the soils and roof had to be resealed.

Passing by the site this morning, the site looks like it has been totally cleared. No sign of any impending construction but it appears as though they could start today, if they wanted to.

You're welcome!

If anyone wants the original JPGs for viewing in VR, I can post them. Also the spherical images I posted a few month ago from the top of a couple downtown parkades.

^Re: the Carlton Inn site. It was used most recently to dismantle the formwork from the residential tower. Now like was mentioned is basically empty. There's a couple trucks parked on it now.

What was the start date quoted most recently? Something like later this year IIRC.

Even the current construction site ahs cleared out quite a bit. Biff mentioned they'll have large portions opened up by July. With the residential tower being fenced off until completion.
