Dare say the renderings are uglier than the real thing?

It's looking pretty sharp. I find a lot of renderings hilarious with their utopian scenes of urban bliss and ethereal light. If I wasn't otherwise occupied I would love to put together a humerous coffee table book contrasting renderings with reality.

It will be fascinating to see how different light (sun/cloud/sunrise/twilight, etc) will play off the two office towers. These towers will be greatly photographed.

The fins are becoming one of my favourite features of this development. Something so simple yet they add a lot of interest. Who was the architect for this again? Was it Gibbs Gage from Calgary?

Given how exciting it's been these past couple years to watch the hotel/condo rise and then the east tower, it's going to be next level watching the centerpiece, Nutrien Tower, take shape.

I think the Winter Garden/Rooftop Atrium on the East Tower is really going to look cool. I have looked towards the building from a number of vantage points...I go to YMCA and you can even see it from that area....and of course from Victoria Bridge, Broadway Bridge and Idylwyld Bridge. The idea of seeing 'greenery' year round up there and the sun shining through 12 months a year will be sweet!!

Again....I just think it would be great if there were public access to it, but have a feeling it will be an amenity just for those that work in that tower....

I don't post pics, but when I walk home from downtown I take the north(?) side of the bridge walkway. As you approach the stairs to go up from Spadina onto the bridge, you get a great perspective of East tower and the large winter garden on top. If you stand by the parking lot by the Remai Condo tower and look over the bridge to Riverlanding it is cool.

Just suggesting maybe someone wants to post a pic from the perspective.

Thanks

It's been fun to discover the vantages, within the Downtown itself or throughout the city, from where these new buildings are visible in the cityscape that I wasn't necessarily expecting.

April 26 Pictures:

^^^ There is a spot just behind the Alt Hotel where one can get somewhat close to the pit.

^^^ It looks like the parkade is a corkscrew style. It looks like it connects to the 4th level of the east tower parkade on the north side, then ramps up to connect to the third level on the south side. It can't be seen in this picture but there is a third set of passthrus closer to the camera (they can be seen on the live cam) that connect to existing levels 1, 2, and 3.

^^^ From the bottom of the Broadway Bridge.

Towering Question

Does anyone know what this East Tower is going to be named? Hopefully Nutrien in the Middle turns out to be just as stunning as the shot gun. BIHMD

Poundmaker Building has a nice ring to it.

Tootoosis Building even better. Plus he was a real nice guy who helped launch River Landing.
