OMG, it's actually U/C? I never got the design but the tower looks ok. Now that I see the renderings it makes sense. Looks like it has legs. Wasn't there a smaller version too?

abu dhabi is really coming along!!
@tom: how many km or miles are there between dubai and abu dhabi?

Wow, nice looking tower - good location too.

JDRCRASH May 6, 2008 8:06 PM

This tower isn't bad, actually.

I don't know from where to where that distance is calculated, but it is wrong.

Tom, this picture is not from Pelli Clarc Pelli. This is actually a picture of the project board on site that I took back in June 2006.

This distance seems by car to be correct. When I was in Dubai, I wanted to visit Abu Dhabi as well. I didn't made it, cause it was too far, of about some 100km far away and too long time on road, which I used only to see Dubai, but I would love to live in Abu Dhabi some day... Then I would have a chance to see wonderful bldgs like those personally, why not visiting the welcoming Emirates Palast as well, while in Al-Burj Hotel (Burj-al-arab) is quite impossible for normals like me.

Amazing. Pretty solid design as well.

Hoodrat Sep 22, 2008 1:30 AM

cool:)

Fabb Sep 22, 2008 6:51 AM

The rendering is frustrating.
I wonder what the main facade will look like.

Bergenser Sep 22, 2008 1:18 PM

Indeed, please post renderings from other angles if you find them. :)
