San Francisco: Canyons, the Waterfront and More
Mission Street's developing canyon got me thinking about its status related to some of the more mature canyons around downtown. Thus, I've been exploring more of these lately and took my camera long the other day. I also found some older miscellaneous photos I had forgotten about. I hope you enjoy them.
First, my inspiration: Mission St. just before sunrise. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2281/...4457e197_b.jpg Battery St. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2288/...fb8ea51b_b.jpg Sansome St. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2271/...b3d7b4c3_b.jpg Montgomery St. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2259/...3241646b_b.jpg Another look at Battery St. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2222/...9c0c4f21_b.jpg Looking up California St. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2388/...991ec066_b.jpg Looking down California St. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2119/...562343d9_b.jpg The California St. wall adjacent to the 101 California plaza. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2036/...f6a703b7_b.jpg Looking the other way (toward Market St.) from the 101 Cal. plaza. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2298/...17780ca7_b.jpg Next are a few miscellaneous density shots: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2034/...e22c84e0_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2089/...fd971a38_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2107/...23a6dfeb_b.jpg The Harbor Court Hotel along the waterfront. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2360/...c39e5256_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2077/...8a563093_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2233/...0fa18d83_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2303/...88a1004e_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2214/...97995df3_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2123/...42c6f6de_b.jpg One of a pair of new restaurants going in along the Embarcadero. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2001/...98255114_b.jpg Some miscellaneous shots I found while looking through my archive the other day. They date from this summer to a couple of years ago: Residential towers from the Marina Green. Can you spot the very tip of the Pyramid? http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2336/...4f1f7bcc_b.jpg The view from Crissy Field on a late summer day. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2271/...477ca6ee_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2373/...0f552744_b.jpg Dusk settles over the rock. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2330/...c7b75fb1_b.jpg You might think this is how the Golden Gate got its name. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2017/...78030d21_b.jpg Another day ends by the bay. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2058/...e9ef5466_b.jpg Thanks for stopping by. Edit: I added a couple of new shots on page 2. |

Probably the best SF photo thread I've ever seen. Some of those canyons were on par with Manhattan.

it's eerie how similar SF's financial district and NY's financial district is at street-level.
