City Council didn't like it especially how it meets with the street.

There was some news a short while back regarding it and some improvements to the base. I'll check to see if I can find it.

Ah here it is. From MikeinTO on August 17

Update:

Canderel Stoneridge is still going for 75s. The podium is planned for 8 floors and will match the height of the original college park building. The exterior to the podium will be clad in stone. Retail along Yonge and Ryerson is very interested in having their "Yonge Street Presence" at Yonge and Gerrard. They may be a potential partner to have facilities in the Podium structure - which makes perfect sence given the location.

For the first two phases the art component will be a large art work on Bay Street between the two towers - supposedly it will be quite spectacular.

Also the crowns of the first two phases as well as the planned third phase will have vanity lighting. It is about time more landmark residential structures have night time lighting.

Section 37 agreements for all three towers will go towards upgrading and improving the little park in the centre of the block - which is currently not in great shape.

Kyle Rae is apparently very supportive of the application for phase 3.

Great to hear, im releaved they are still going for 75 stories and not chopping off a crap load of height as many pecimists have been convinced will happen.

hey guys, i know ROCP 3 is going through a re-design, but that 240m gap of whiteness in the diagram is bugging me lol, so i did up a rendering of it using the old design and various other renderings of the tower. Since it could be weeks maybe months in a worst case scenario before the new designs are released i figure why not atleast put the old design in for now.

(not necessarily applicable here) just remember that there are many gaps for buildings that already exist or at least have a good chance of existing one day - don't let the desire of prefection keep you to drawing the same building over and over again

Too tall and doesn't fit in with the area?! What a load of crap! Under such guidelines we wouldn't have City Hall, TD Center or the CN Tower. Should I suggest two twin 32 floor cheap pre-cast concrete towers in off white? Why the heck would anyone want to try to fit in with that area anyways? Maybe City Planning Dept. should adopt the motto "generic urban sprawl at any cost". - ice

That's a beautiful skyscraper. It would really enhance the impressive feeling of slaloming through buildings that you get when driving on the Gardiner. If it's only a fantasy... too bad.

I'll be in Toronto (for the 12th time in the last year) during the week of 9/25, and I'm taking at least the 28th and 29th off to just hang out in the city.

I"m looking for good photography suggestions. I'll probably do an extensive walk around downtown areas, and probably downtown Mississauga as well. Someone mentioned Tommy Thompson Park for cool skyline views, so that's on the list. Anywhere else? Which downtown buildings have observation decks besides the CN tower?

2nd question - how easy is it to get to Niagara Falls and then Buffalo on public transportation (probably from YYZ)? I'd like to check out the falls and then visit some family in Buffalo.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Might as well throw up this shot from my last trip, which I liked:

^ I'd recommend the Panorama restaurant in the Manulife Centre.
