Hong Kong - The FULL Experience

Back in May, my wife and I finally took a trip to the far-east. We stayed in HK for a week or so and spent about a week and a half in China. Our time in Hong Kong was far too short and my 50D decided to conk-out early in the trip. With a new 60D in hand, I bring you the following. Welcome to:

Amazing shots of HKG; Tony!

Thanks for sharing this long and interesting photo tour. I´ve liked your pics of those street markets, alleys and the views of Hong Kong from the peak. The density of Hong Kong is impressive.

By the way, congrats for the acquisition of that new 60D. You´ve taken very nice shots with it.

Greetings from Madrid, Spain!

Nice pics. I'm not sure that I've ever seen the base of the Bank of China Tower.

Fantastic pics, dude! I would only say go easy on the colour saturation 'cause your subjects and compositions are already kickin'! Great work!

PS - You're in TO, what's wrong with Tim Horton's, a Canadian institution, may I ask?

I assume you mean the HDR photos? Thanks for the suggestion.

re: Tim's... cuz I like to consider myself sort of a coffee snob.

Nice photos. These 2 were a couple of my favorites:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/anthonysun/7495996634/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/anthonysun/7495996186/

On a side note: I don't see any problem with saturation in any of your pics. A couple things I would suggest is when doing the HDR, after getting your main subject properly exposed, you could go back into photoshop and go over the blown out highlights and make them bright again rather than the flat, sort of nuetral, gray it tends to become.

Hong Kong is so fucking ridiculous.

Urban insanity. It makes American & Canadian cities look like cute resort backwaters..

Massive tour. Love that last shot. Reminds me of the terrain I'd make for cities in simcity. Some water inlets, some hills, and then high density zoning everywhere.

I love all the shots, but especially the ones from the markets. I just love Asian markets. Haven't been to HK yet, but I really enjoyed the markets in Korea (eg., Namdaemun), Shanghai (Wet market), and Tokyo (Tsukiji fish market).

yup they did. The inside isn't as bad as it used to be, the two-level mall was fully renovated. I was kinda surprised (disappointed).

Molson: I'm not sure about other Asian cities, but there were many, many markets in HK. One was lost recently due to a government clearing / revitalization / redevelopment project.

Interesting combination. I haven't seen a BBQ meat store sell fresh vegetables before.

Is this the Ladies' Market? Need to grab a few of these sets!
