A great set of photos. Thanks.

This thread will probably not get as many replies as it should since you posted a link instead of the photos... but that's a damn enjoyable set of photos and worth the click! Thanks!

I especially enjoyed the winter nature shots...

Thanks. I wish I could get it to upload properly. I have followed the instructions, but when I go to preview the post the picture icon has an X through it.

My guess is that you are using the Flickr photo page URL for each shot:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/8419544...7630893949306/

Instead of the URL for an actual photo (which should always end in .jpg):
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8166/7...58350dd7_b.jpg

Which, with the IMG tags, will then let you display the photo here on SSP:

One way to get the proper URL is to select "View all sizes" from the Actions drop down in Flickr, which will display the large size. Then right-click (windows) or ctrl-click (Mac) on the photo and select "Copy image address" from the menu that appears.

Hope this helps!

Great photos. Thanks for sharing. I love the one looking over Seattle from the air - that's a view that always makes me feel like I'm home when I'm flying in.

total eye candy and i like the fact that the pics are all mixed up no offense to Seattle but SF and Vancouver are ridiculously beautiful, Seattle is only a little less beautiful and that's up for debate!

beautiful pictures.

Interesting to see the contrasting Canadian and US west coast urbanism.

Yeah, each city has a unique feeling, but at the same time they all share some architectural features with one another. San Francisco is wonderful in its compactness, Vancouver has brilliant high rise architecture, and Seattle is getting there. Large portions of key real estate remain undeveloped that are slated for high rise development which makes its future exciting. Looking out from the space needle is already a treat, but imagining 10 years from now all the more.

Three cities that geographically AND geologically speaking, were all really dumb decisions to build major cities right where they are in the first place, but at the same time if they didn't get built right where they are, they would not have that form that make them as pretty as they are.

Awesome shots.

These photos bring me back to a time not so long ago when I viewed the Seattle Skyline for the first time in earnest. I wasn't driving through. I wasn't with anyone. I had gone downtown by myself for the first time. I was raised on a combination of Tacoma's (boring) east side and the rural outskirts of the Seattle Metro area. I had spent my whole life living less than an hour from Seattle, but I'd never set foot downtown.

What I remember is the sensation of being immersed in what seemed like a sea of tall buildings; the rhythm of the people and the cars, the abundance of coffee shops, and the atmosphere of culture. The only word I can think of to characterize that feeling was pure and simple awe.

Years passed, and I go downtown less frequently than I used to. I've been there hundreds of times. The distractions and burdens of life make the world seem smaller than it used to when I had just turned 18; yet once in a while, like the scent of something fleetingly sweet in the air, I am brought back to that moment when I stood on the corner of 3rd and Seneca looking up and thinking to myself that I was looking at the most amazing sight of my entire life.

Your pictures do bring back memories, and good ones at that. The mixed up order threw me a curve though. I found myself looking at pictures of San Francisco and wondering what part of Seattle they were taken in.
