God Frankfurt looks beautiful, so many contrasting colors and textures. Why is it that many Germans I've talked to (and even on SSP) seem to dislike Frankfurt? Granted I'm only going off of pics I see here over the years, but the place seems to be the ideal mix of old and new.

I've been to the airport, but never the city and had no idea it looked this good. Great pics!

Germany has so many great cities. I don't know what I like more, Berlin or Frankfurt.
I wish Germany had one massive city like a Paris or a London or a New York City. Instead it has a larger collection of high quality mid sized large cities.
It's really an industrial powerhouse though; Gotta love the architecture.

Lookin' good. I've never been, but from the photos it looks a little like London (the way the new and the old intermingle)?

Totally agree. Frankfurt is the perfect representation of a modern cosmopolitan Germany, and that's why many tourists and conservative Germans resent it. Frankfurt is not your stereotypical or "traditional" Germany of castles, sausages, and beer. Instead it's the city of skyscrapers, falafels, and sake.

Well, that was impressive... Unfortunately, I just can't give up the animosity I feel toward Frankfurt because I could never, ever, ever win if I based my airline there when playing Aerobiz: Supersonic. Same for Amsterdam. I could win if I based it in London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, or Moscow but never Frankfurt or Amsterdam.

(Btw, I'm going to guess that Havana, Baghdad, Perth, Tunis, and Auckland could be counted on for a reliable kiss of death for you too, right?)

Unbelievably awesome!

The most I've ever seen of Frankfurt is its airport.
