Edinburgh, Scotland, UK

This is a collection of images I've taken in this beautiful city since moving here 2 years ago from the US. I'm fortunate to live in the city centre and try to make it a frequent habit of visiting roofs and new vantage points. I've long enjoyed this forum, so it's time to give a little something back.

On each Flickr page are higher resolution versions, as well as other images from around Europe and the US. I hope you enjoy.

More to come eventually - summer is finally here and I hope to be out more!

I'm on Thistle Street - I do love it but sometimes I think I would enjoy the slightly slower pace of St. Stephen St, which is a wonderful street; fantastic part of town with a nice proximity to both the Centre and Stockbridge. I bet you loved it!

Excellent set of pictures; I love those long exposures with the moving clouds. How are you finding the weather compared to NC?

Many thanks!

As someone who's experienced Maryland, you'll probably understand. In short: the latitude/sun swings are tough to deal with. And the climate is fairly mild, but tough to stay warm enough. I feel like I'm in a perpetual NC early-March.

Cheers, all!

Pallo, I'm with you - my feeling is, if it's going to be cold, damp, and dreary, it might as well be snowing and a little bit more cheery.

Amazing photos! I never thought about how cool a ferris wheel would look with a longer exposure. Makes me wish someone would build a high speed wheel (without passengers of course) to create the same effect in real time. It would make a cool light show!

It's been awhile, so I thought it would be best to update this thread with some new stuff. I'm always a bit baffled how under-represented Edinburgh is on this forum. It's not Shanghai, mind you, but historically speaking it certainly has a skyscraper heritage!
