Well, that came back from a long slumber. Thanks!

This gives me an excuse to add some newer shots that I think more or less fit the theme.

PG...love the shot of the Bay Bridge at sunrise. Seeing those canyons as a small boy always had me plastered against the window of my family's Olds station wagon.

Just curious, BT - what do you mean by that statement? Is Gumps having problems or something?

It has been through a number of corporate owners since its glory days (names escape me but declasse' catalogue sales outfits including Horn & Hardart, the {{gasp}} automat people) under founder Richard Gump who died in 1989 and, of course, there was the move across Post St. from its traditional location. Since it lost its independence the merchandise hasn't been what it was IMHO.

I don't know how they are doing but most other high end places (Nieman, Saks, Nordies) are doing awful nationally right now.

Ah, ok. I've actually only been inside Gumps once (three of four years ago). Didn't see much that I was interested in then, and haven't been back...

I'm sure they're hurting like some of the other places you mentioned, I was just making sure that you didn't know something about an upcoming vacant storefront

I never realized that San Francisco was so dense in the downtown area.
