Great to watch this tower climbing into the sky. From the renders and what we're seeing thus far, the breakdown is looking something like this:

- the tall, 4-story high lobby/mezzanine
- then, 3 extra tall floors (for meeting space, I'm guessing)
- above that, 14 shorter floors for commercial office space
- 3 floors in the middle of the building with the belt trusses - the 2 top ones as tall as the meeting space floors far below (anyone know what these will be used for?)
- continuing up, 35 floors for the majority of hotel rooms -somewhat shorter than the office floors
- the remaining top floors for the sky lobby, restaurant(s), observation deck, etc.

Also, any guesses as to what they'll be charging to visit the observation deck? (The OUE/U.S. Bank Tower will supposedly be asking $25.)

^Wow, that's an epic aerial. It's good to see all that construction around downtown.

Eightball - thanks for those shots. I'm starting to get a sense for how this will fit in amongst its neighbors. I'm liking the glass on this a lot. It's going to look really nice.

Didn't they say somewhere it was going to be free?

Here's an updated progress diagram. Is it just me or does it seem like the tower won't have as much as an impact on the skyline as previously thought? I know we have quite a ways to go but the core is roughly 2/3 to the top of the crown and it really doesnt seem that high at all compared to the Aon or USBT. I hope I'm wrong.

using timpdx's picture, and by counting the number of floors constructed and comparing that to the diagram, i came up with this rough outline of the completed tower. it really doesn't look that tall at all afterall. Maybe this is why any of the renderings by AC martin avoided showing the whole skyline?

This hasnt been a mystery. The top of the bulk of the building, or where the last floor and skydeck are, will be around 835-840', about the height of the AON tower. The 'sail', or crown of the tower, will be about 100' taller. So main structure rises to the documented height of 934'. Then the spire makes up the difference.. Your drawing is a bit short at that. But a good effort.

The WG outside pool deck is about 840' AGL The lobby is 286' MSL. The Aon is 858' AGL The lobby is at 280' MSL.The pool deck will be about equil to the AON sign.

Remember the BK has a 400' spire that is for looks only. The top part of that spire becomes a 5' diameter hollow tube/pipe that is counted in the 2717' height. Trump Tower in Chicago has a spire on the top several feet in diameter. There are numerous others that count around the world.
