.

Has anyone used the Siverfx pro plugin for lightroom? Its unreal
for blacknwhite photos. The selective colouring is tops.Using a demo
but really want this little bit of software.
...example I did.

Another thing since I found a serial number for Lightroom online will I have
to do the same for the plugin?

Well, just put your camera on a little higher ISO although that doesnt really matter because you will want to do a long exposure in order to get good lighting and then youll capture many fireworks with one shot. Youll need a tripod too.

I like f/11 and a 4 sec exposure. I'll also play with the f-stop and increase the exposure times. A tripod is a must have and it's also nice to have a cable release. I always leave my iso at 200.

thanks for the tips,to be honest I really don't plan on shooting fireworks, I just wanted to know the best setup if I decided to do so....a couple of questions... do you lock up your mirror and do you think using the cameras timer would work (I know it's probably a hit and miss)

^ I used to use the mirror lock up, but didn't really notice any difference in sharpness or anything else so I stopped using it. Instead of a cable release I use the timer function. On Nikon cameras you can set the delay for 2, 5, or 10 seconds, so I set it for two.

Ha, ok, I found a solution to my own problem.

Infranview (which I used to use ages ago) can actually do it in a hidden, non-obvious way. Anybody interested should check this site for instructions: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/3-easy-...o-your-photos/

Best of all, Infranview is freeware for personal use.

I discovered that an internal flash in the dark works well at close range, but what kind of external flash be better...

Nikon D200. Maybe the external flash would work by itself with that kind of camera or maybe more is needed.

I'm honestly not following what you're asking.

I can only suggest that you should pickup an external flash that mounts onto the hotshoe of your camera, one that has an adjustable angle / rotation head.

Get some books on photography from the library too... before Ford closes them on you.

Nikon only makes 2 or 3 different flash units, get the cheapest one and I guarantee it will work very well with your Nikon DSLR. Stay with the Nikon system and everything will integrate and work automatically. It's still going to have a limited range though.

Good recommendation. If you decide to move up with multiple remote flashes, the lowest-priced SB600 still will work with them as a trigger, if I understand the manuals correctly.
