Old Ballpark

This is my first attempt at a ballpark or stadium, so it's far from being perfect, but I tried. It's not scale, because I wanted to try something small first before I tried something normal scale. This ballpark is also a small park, more like a minor league park, or an early major league park. I also have to put some finishing touches on it.

i'd definitely say you nailed the early 1900s ballpark feel there. you should turn off the lines though when you're posting images, it makes a huge difference in picture quality. I love the retro feel there though. great job. ESPECIALLY for a first park. Man, you should see some of the total crap I made when I first went at a park. That's good stuff right there.

Well thanks. Here it is with some minor improvements. And yeah, I was kind of shooting for the historic ballpark look. I would like to take a look at the ones you are talking about.

Thanks. I've detailed the corner a little more, and I will eventually put some street scaping around it.

I touched up the outside a bit more, and added the footage on the outfield walls. What kind of details do you suggest I add ? I'm open.

Thanks. When I turn off edges, it looks blurry. Besides street scaping, I should be done with this. As you can see, I decorated the back of the scoreboard with the MLB logo, heightened the right field wall, and added ads.

It's more or less just the retro look. Ballparks aren't built like that anymore and most of them don't even exist at this point. The only ones remaining from close to that era really are Wrigley Field in Chicago and Fenway Park in Boston, and neither really look like that. Exodus's park looks more like something from the late 1800s/early 1900s like the Baker Bowl or Connie Mack. I don't think any like that still exist, so Exodus's park is pretty cool to see.

I found a pic of Tiger Stadium back when it was called Navin Field, and before it was enlarged. I also had Fenway, Comisky, and Crosley Field in mind when I drew this. A park like the one I drew would have been enlarged by now, or razed. So yeah, a park similar to the one I drew would be like one of the first stages in ballparks, and wouldn't exist anymore. You might find something similar or similar in size in the minors, but I'm not sure. I'm glad you guys appreciate the drawing.

Here's Crosley Field, Cincinnati

I added a building for offices, enlarged the right field upperdeck stands, added more exterior texture, and did some other minor work.

I played around with a brick scheme here.

Thanks. I'm finally finished. This is pretty much like the last one, except that I added some stands behind the stadiums office building, put a roof over the left field stands that didn't have any before, and added side walks. There's not much more I can do without doing too much, if I want to keep it kind of historical looking imo.

It truly looks like a ballpark you'd see in the 1910's, 20's, or 30's. You captured the time into the architecture well. Nicely done.
