Cool Rochester, From Dusk til Dusk.er

I was looking for a night shot for another website and I rushed to Rochester to get a few shots at dusk/night. I have been these locations before but not with the Nikon D80. So i wanted to try it out. Hope you like them. Just a small sample everyone gets killed with hundreds of photos...

1

2

3 Kodak Factory

4 A little closer for those that like to see buildings. lol

5

6 same shot just there is a train on the bridge. thats the blurred line across it.

7 same as the above also, i kinda tweaked it a little with photoshop and there is a train going over the bridge above the waterfall.

Hope you like A sample of Rochester, NY

Not enough photos, but the quality is much appreciated. So few views for this thread is a tragedy. I really like the Kodak factory in number 3.

I agree with HIMS. Tho 100's of pics would be annoying, it would be nice to see more shots in your threads -- your pictures are very nice.

Fantastic picture of the High Falls. Some of the buildings around the area have been there for well over 100 years. I'm guessing the mill ruin that you see to the right of the falls is Civil War era. Boom--I'm not sure right now--gentrifying yes--rapidly.

Some history on the mills: Before the Civil War Rochester boomed as the center of the nation's first bread basket. After the Erie Canal opened in the 1820's, though, the nation's wheat production shifted to the midwest over the course of several decades. Some of those old mills along the falls were originally used to grind wheat into flour for shipment to the eastern population centers. This led to the city's original nickname, the "Flour City" (which later became the "Flower City".).
