Los Angeles- Preview of my old and new neighborhood

Finally for the first time since moving back to Hollywood took the cameras out to take some pictures. Decided to do a Sunday walk and check out the Hollywood Farmers Market on Selma and Wilcox Streets, then over to near H&H to check out a couple new residential projects and then down to Melrose to eat lunch at my favorite wrap place, which I forgot was closed on Sundays :

First though, some views from our balcony... :

View from Roof:

Okay, now we're off:

Okay, I had a few over exposed FU's with the camera so I played a little with the pictures. I thought this one looks like Los Angeles after a snow if it ever did:

Another FU:

Very interesting.....thanks for sharing your photos.
I'm surprised how much Hollywood HASN'T changed since I lived in the area (late 1980s).

Your apt. views are great. Is that your apartment building in photo #12?

I guess a lot of neighborhoods in Hollywood haven't changed much, but a lot has as well especially all the ones that branch off of Hollywood Blvd.

The fact that there is Trader Joe's in Hollywood says something!! (TJ's are really picky where they open their stores.)

The Cat & Fiddle... I love that place! Well done dktshb... well done. Hollywood has improved so much since I first visited here about 6 or 7 years ago. Still has upward momentum too. Going to be nice for you being able to walk to the Hollywood Bowl!

Thanks all for the comments I really appreciate them. I am very happy to be back in Hollywood. I like being able to leave the car in the garage and get everywhere on foot once again.

Not sure what it was used for but it is in the back of a commercial building so probably storage.

Well I was unemployed for a while there so I was out and about taking pictues. Things are settling down now after getting a new job and selling my townhome and moving back to Hollywood so I may just do a few threads again.

Well the pictures I took aren't really indicative of Hollywood. Since most every structure I took a picture of was built prior to 1980 I can see how you would get that impression but the neighborhood has gone thru quite the renaissance even since 1997 when I first moved here. The Subway, H&H and the Renaissance Hotel got things rolling just over a decade ago and things just keep getting better. It is remarkable how much change has happened here, but fortunately the neighborhood has managed to stay funky, beautiful and interesting.
