Slow and not particularly photogenic:

Those are both from yesterday afternoon.

Thanks for the photo.

At the moment are we seeing 25% of its height? More? Less?

Here is another angle from the webcam:

It looks like, when comparing the renderings to the current progress, that they have about 8 more floors to go.

I count 8 floors in the latest webcam photo, so I'd say closer to 50%.

The glass is being installed and is looking nice. Follow the source link for some info and a larger image.

Looks taller in the recent photo than it does in renderings.

I tried to shoot the glass today, but they have it mostly covered. Anyhow, here's how it's looking:

This was the best I could do on the glass. One area of interest are those red-orange vertical beams to the right. I think that is the space where they will exhibit large pieces of art per the renderings on page 1:

And here's the smaller annex down the street:

It looks like they're at about the 12th floor (I'm not sure if that smaller floor right above the glass counts), so they're within a couple of floors of the top.

I'm the foreman ironworker in charge of the erection of the GFRC panels on this project. We had a few delays due to wind on erection days, as some of the panels measure 32 feet long by 13 feet high on the north elevation of the building. It seems to be a slow process due to the fact that DSA requires the concrete to cure for 28 days prior to strip the form that supports the floors. There are 3 floors behind the blue wall (peri system). This system is in place to keep personel and material safe within this system. Therefore minimize/eliminate fallind debris from the building. The 14th floor was set ealier this week and, now all that is left is the roof to be set. The peri system is schedule to come off the building in late june or early july. This system also creates a challenge for the panels to be install hence it comes off the edge of the building about 7 feet, therefore we have to pull the panels onto the building to set them in place instead of a straight shot from the crane. Once this wall system is gone, the progress should rapidly increased.

The glass is cover for protection. The white plastic is made of a fire resistance material so it can shield the glass while steel is being welded onto the building. The steel is what is going to support the shade system in front of the glass. Also the glass will have an image of a park/forest etched on it. It is quite nice once all the glass is set and the image becomes more noticeable.

I will also be erecting the GFRC panels on the annex building.

Hi burnaz, welcome to the forum and thank you for the description of the process! I've been curious about the blue panels and why they seem to be set on each floor for so long; it's a system I haven't seen before. Also wasn't sure how many floors were behind them.

I'm intrigued by the etched glass. Can't wait to see that. What do you think about the shading system? To be honest, that part of the renderings makes me nervous about the aesthetics of the exterior. But the finished product is often much different from the renderings and I like what I've seen so far.

I hope you can continue posting. It's safe to say that everyone will appreciate any other details you have to share about the project!

One more question: I just noticed that on 2/18, 1977 posted a cam shot showing your panels all the way up to the 6th floor on the western side. But they're mostly gone in my shots from a couple of weeks ago. Why were they removed?

The glasiers at this project is AGA, they will install the glass and the shade system. To be honest, I think the shades will look interesting and they are dark grey in color.

Once the panels are set onto the building they do not come off.

I will be hoisting panels saturday may 21 (weather permiting)

Thanks for the answers and glad to hear your optimism on the shades. I just realized my mistake about the panels. 1977's post is of the live cam, so it gets updated constantly. It's actually showing more updated progress than my photos from the 6th. Doh!

Burnaz, welcome and thank you very much for the details you've provided. Much appreciated! It's great to have someone with inside knowledge of the project here.

Please keep us posted on how things are going.
