Lincoln

What can i tell you about Lincoln.Well it has a killer cathedral, Norman castle home of one of only four Magna Carta manuscripts,a couple of art galleries with some great David Hockney paintings, interesting local museums,Tudor streets,a University, the worlds first tank was built here.A pleasant place to spend a day or two.
On the way home we stopped off in bakewell Derbyshire for some food and to pick up some puddings ,it's what the town is famous for
[/INDENT]
My lunch giant Yorkshire pudding cumberland sausage swimming in a lake of onion gravy
Some bizarre looking morris dancers
Thank you for looking

These photographs are beautiful. And so is the town.

For me, the word Lincoln brings to mind automobiles, a US president, and a town in Nebraska. No doubt this is the original Lincoln and I am pleased to see it.

I was thinking we were going to Nebraska. I very happily surprised to go somewhere else. Great photos, and a nice looking city. Thanks!

I was thinking of Lincoln Illinois, but shit so many states in this country have cities named after Lincoln, that we all had something else in mind. Great photos.

Beautiful shots. I especially like the pictures of the cathedral towering above the town. The cathedrals must have really scared the shit out of people when they were first built.

These three story houses are interesting, too - I've never seen anything quite like them.

^^ Your trick worked with me. I was expecting to see a huge football (American college) stadium, and instead got a tour of a beautiful city with wonderful pics. The steep streets were a surprise. I wonder how the poor horses pulled carts up those rascals in the old days?

Great thread, and thanks for fooling me, I enjoyed the result.
