MIAMI | do you think this is attractive?

this is from 1997 - i can't find a recent picture but the one i saw in this months metropolitan home was much more filled out - its a parkade

its kinda ugly but an attempt at being more green...

Being from Chicago, anything with a Palm Tree infront of it is attractive to me.

Imagine covering those white, barred sections with either wood (to simulate a "forest") or something else. It would be much nicer.

In a Hanging Gardens of Babylon sort of way, yeah--it's nicer than most parking structures.

this is Miami, right?

i think it looks better than the majority of parking garages, but from this angle it looks kind of awkward, and seems to detract from the otherwise attractive street retail.

Okay. To address the issue, a parking garage like this belongs at an amusement park or something to that nature, not in an urban environment.

I don't like it. What's with the spruce trees randomly popping out from the rest of the greenery? It also looks like someone hasn't trimmed the flora in quite a while. I do like the different facades for each retailer though. Nothing uniform about it as each storefront is unique.

Of course the white wall and black bars are a no-brainer in contributing to its ugliness. Unless this is your parking garage, Sponge G. If that's the case, then I like it

It looks like some computer model you'd see on one of those Discovery Channel 'Armageddon/Fifty years without humans' shows.

I like the greenery, but what the heck is going on with that facade? That crossed facade looks horrible. One of these days an architect needs to get smart with a parking garage like that and actually make the foliage cover it entirely. In a way, that almost looks like a cliff instead of a building with some trees on it. I'm not feeling those yellow tiles on the corner.

here's another shot couretsy of BobMiami: http://bobmiami.com/2006/11/05/more-...rking-garages/
It's in South Beach and I think it's great. The retail is part of the garage and wraps around both sides if I remember correctly.

yes it is South Beach on Washington Avenue I believe and the second pic looks more recent since all of the foliage now covers the facade of the garage. Kevin this is south beach remember? Pastels are the norm.

Sorry.
I guess I misread an earlier post. It can't detract from the retail when it is the retail, but I get it now.

I like it - was quite impressed when I first saw it with my own eyes ( I might have some pics of it somehwere )

It kinda reminds me of the houses in Nice, France that are build right next to cliffs full of plants giving the same look..
