Exclamation Rhine-Ruhr picture thread

The Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region (German: Metropolregion Rhein-Ruhr) is the largest metropolitan area in Germany with about 11,800,000 inhabitants. It is of polycentric nature and the only megacity in Germany. It covers an area of 10,820 square kilometers and lies entirely within the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region spreads from the Dortmund-Essen-Duisburg (Ruhr Area) megalopolis in the north, to the urban areas of the cities of Mönchengladbach, Düsseldorf (the state capital), Wuppertal, Cologne (the region's largest and Germany's fourth largest city), and Bonn in the south.

Guess I'm thinking too much about the trip as I'm trying frantically to book a seat.

What a fascinating thread. I've seen loads of pictures of Hamburg, Berlin, Munich but never really concentrated on Rhine-Ruhr cities. Düsseldorf's a grand one that's for sure. Beautiful stately older buildings and kick-ass modern architecture gone right. Good-looking street views there.

Great pictures. IMO, many European cities (like this) are the perfect built environment, especially the older areas. Those cars are amazing too...

Helluva set of pics. Great looking city. I just wish I had the disposable income to afford one of those cars. Look forward to the rest of the tour.
