Boise, Idaho ~ Where Autumn is Always in Vogue
Boise, October 2010.
The previous photos were all taken in park and greenbelt areas near downtown along the Boise River.
Oh Wise One
Views from Table Rock
Looking south over areas of SE Boise and over the airport towards the great wide open and Snake River Canyon and the Owyhee's. The city and metro spread west from where I took this picture. zoooooooooom
Looking up at the top of the Boise Ridge above the city where the evergreen tree line begins.
October full moon over Boise, from Crescent Rim above Ann Morrison Park. The moon was rising and the sun still setting so I had some day light to work with.
Crescent Rim on the lower Boise Bench is an ancient river terrace rising about 50 feet from the bottom of the valley where downtown and the river are located. There is another ancient river bench~terrace that rises to I-84 and the airport.
Les Bois! The woods between the Greenbelt and Boise River, just over one mile upstream from downtown.
Downtown
A few examples of how Boise shows support for National Breast Cancer Month
I'm interested to see stickers regarding Prez Obama's job start to shop up on poles

City of Trees
Time to see some wildlife along the Boise River and Greenbelt. This area is around a mile from 8th Street at the river downtown, and close to Boise State.
Don't mess with me!
Toward the center of this photo, and the top of the Cottonwood Trees I spotted a Bald Eagle. Eagles winter along the Boise River through the city and also in several protected natural sanctuaries.
Around the bend toward the West Parkcenter Bridge is an island in the river.
This wild little family is basically living right in the center of the city.
The Old Idaho Penitentiary Historical Site
Downtown
Carnegie Library, no longer a library.
Wine and a Wax
Graffiti Boise style, part of a city arts project in a parking garage downtown.
Julia Davis Park, downtown between Boise State and city center.
Gene Harris Bandshell, named for, of course Gene Harris the Jazz musician who lived and died in Boise. There is a Jazz festival each year in Boise to commemorate the impact he had on the local music scene. http://www.geneharris.org/
Putting on a show for the Great Heron, Boise River
Various photos along the Boise River Greenbelt, and several city parks in the downtown area.
Hiding out in Kathryn Albertson Park, close to one mile west of downtown along the greenbelt.
The cooler weather we have had the past few days has really kicked the colors into high gear, the woods along the river are starting to peak so I will post some updates later in this thread, Boise is known for having long Autumn seasons.

Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse
