That was outstanding. A very rare opportunity for us, and even more so for yourself. Thank-you. For your service first, and your photos second.

Interesting, dusty dull, powerful, frightening, and even a touch of fun; these pics had it all. Glad you posted these FREKI. It's good to put humanity with the news reports. And it's also good to see your concern for the Marsh Arabs. 60 Minutes had a story about them on their show last night, amazing story.

Thanks for the thread.

i never got to see the south.

i wish i had gotten to take more pictures, but as a flyer, and the stuff that i got to see and do, photos were pretty much strictly forbidden.

Awesome stuff. The photos are beautiful.
But wow; That place looks like the stone age. I forget that there are still countries in the world where people live in mud huts.

great pics, and well worth sharing.

personally, i think it's important that war is viewed through the eyes of those on the ground, it brings alot of things into focus and shares an invaluable perspective.

Absolutely fascinating. The only images of the war I've ever seen are those from official sources or from professional photojournalists. This is a rare treat, to see Iraq from the eyes of an ordinary soldier. (And I'm a little ashamed to admit, but I had no idea the Danes were in Iraq--thank you).
