But if not, there is always next summer.

10 days I was in the Peg, and only a couple of days worthy of the beach...so, we didn't get to Grand or Victoria.

We did manage to take a drive to Gimli on an overcast and cooler day, so I'll try and add some pics later. One of those pics is exactly the same shot as the pier Newflyer took

I guess I'll have to wait til next year.

^^^^Hey is that rock on Willow Island? I love that place.

These picture are not beach exactly, but from the Hunt Lake hiking trail in the Whiteshell. Our camera battery died half way through the hike so I missed alot of large cliffs, etc.

Hunt Lake trail begins just past west hawk beach.

The drive:

The trail:

Hunt Lake:

West Hawk Lake:

again:

the trail is kind of like Lord of the Rings:

Beach! this is a great spot in a bay facing west on west hawk. The sun is intense here we swam for hours. The bottom was sandy.

my buddy:

clear water, you can see your toes:

Sounds like a good time. I love Gimli ... and the marina. Next year I hope to spend a few days in Gimli at the Lakeside Hotel.

The picture I took of the pier was at Matlock, so it may have been different pier than the one you took.

I'd love to see your pics.

No, it's the same one...right around the Artesian well by Matlock. Can't help but take a few pictures

True... although I have spent time in Gimili in the fall. Its a beautiful town.. and on a warm autumn day you have the option of a very enjoyable walk on the beach.

... with that said there is always next summer to look forward to.

I can't wait!!

thanks God now it's warmer, and it's supposed to be 25 tomorrow... My body was already adjusting to winter though, with a 1 week long sickness of cold.
geez I hate Manitoba

ok ajs so i wasn't the only one full dressed for winter??? It was cold and humid, way worse than -20 or something, and came all of a sudden after very warm weeks. It was just crazy Greco-Roman, you should have been here...

Oh, it will be...it will be.

Spirited - we are on "borrowed" time for any summer-like weather. It was a near perfect day in the Calgary area today, but will likely have highs in the low teens (or less?) this week coming up. Enjoy it when you get it!

I agree Newflyer, if the wind isn't bad, I actually really like autumn weather in the mid-teens full of sunshine. Vancouverites walk on their "beaches" through winter when the temps are much colder, so enjoying Gimli/Winnipeg Beach in Fall is not hard to believe.

And then there's ice fishing

the averages for the beginning of september are the low 20s when we where getting low teens...

now where getting mid 20s to make up for it ... the way i see it there is no averages on a planet like this..it would make no sense for this is not a perifict world

what may be the average for 20 years may be completelly different for 200 years (-) for same 20 year time period ...

the way i see it enjoy the damn weather when its nice

p.s. winnipeg has 3rd fastest growing economy in canada

++ im loving da monkeys avatar

Please Peggers ... don't complain about the weather these days..

While you bask in the mid 20's ... they are calling for flurries in Calgary tonight.

Not enjoying this at all.... when do the chinooks begin again??

I heard it might get up into the upper 20's in Winnipeg over the weekend .. (if the forcast holds) .. it would make a great day to enjoy Gimili.
