A lot of atmosphere in the sky and on the street. Excellent thread. This has been a bad year for tornados.

I love this picture:

I love the variety you captured in this collection. You're quite a versatile photographer. And the people shots are top-notch as always

I am absolutely loving this thread man, great work. The TC's are one of my U.S. favorites. How common or uncommon are tornadoes in the TC's ?

Great pics, as usual

Tornadoes are not uncommon in southern MN at all...actually last year MN had the most tornadoes of any state in the union(was an abnormally high number last year obviously), but MN is right on the northern edge of tornado alley. Just as anywhere...you don't see them in the city as often, because it is such a small target as compared to the surrounding countryside. There was a weak F0 tornado within Mpls city limits a couple years ago, and an F3 that did pretty major damage to south Minneapolis in 1981. There is usually AT LEAST one somewhere in or near the metro per summer.

US tornado map, F3 and stronger:
http://www.fema.gov/plan/prevent/saf..._activity.shtm

Minnesota tornado map(red dots) for 2010 through August:
http://minnesota.publicradio.org/col...010_were.shtml

By the end of the year we had over 140. Crazy year for tornadoes last summer.

That was a couple hours after the tornado. I went out mostly to look for stuff that would show off the sky, it was looking crazy that day.

Nice variety! It's great how even in one of the poorer neighborhoods that people are willing to open up businesses that improve the neighborhood like Modern Times. Whatever's in the water over there, we need it here.

Had to check this thread out again since I found out a few hours ago that I'll be in Minneapolis in a few weeks. Nice!

While I'm there, I wanna meet this sweet little dish (the chick, not the dude with the bike and the socks).
