Nice pictures, cool.

I have to admit, I always thought Denver was on par with lower Canada/Northeast/Upper Midwest on it's snowstorms.

The way the news was talking about it, I thought you had a lot more snow than that.

^24" is lots of snow no matter where you are. i think CDOT does a great job getting the roads prepared/plowed. and yeah, wtf is up with ANOTHER foot of snow??? seriously...we may be setting one of the longest streaks of continual snow on the ground. i'm ready to get back to my brown winters instead of my white ones right about now. now i know how you people in the north east feel. it sucks.

Meanwhile in Minneapolis we have had a grand total of 1.3 inches of snow this year. Where is our snow eh?

The poles are shifting.....

...and Denver is now where Minnesota used to be. The snow is piling up and not going away..just like in Minnesota. You are so right, MNMIKE!

I read in USA Today yesterday that during an El Ninio winter Denver experiences bad storms early and late in the winter season. They said the doldrums set in roughly Jan/Feb. Likewise here in Indianapolis we were supposed to be drier and warmer this winter. The warmer part is correct however I have measured 6.56 in my rain gauge this month. Something screwy going on.

Yeah, an El Nino year will hit Denver hard. It will be nice to get it out of the way, and then have our mild winters again for a few more years before another El Nino comes.

^Are you sure it is an el nino year? If so, it hasn't affected California like it has in past years with remarkably warmer ocean temps.

From NOAA....

Typical El Niño effects are likely over North America during January-March 2007, including warmer-than-average temperatures over western and central Canada, and over the northwestern and northern United States, wetter-than-average conditions over portions of the U.S. Gulf Coast and Florida, and drier-than-average conditions in the Ohio Valley and in portions of the Pacific Northwest. Global effects that can be expected during December-March include drier-than-average conditions over most of Malaysia, Indonesia, northern and eastern Australia, some of the U.S.-affiliated islands in the tropical North Pacific, northern South America and southeastern Africa, and wetter-than-average conditions over equatorial East Africa, central South America (Uruguay, northeastern Argentina, southeastern Paraguay and southern Brazil) and along the coasts of Ecuador and northern Peru.

I would, but the only two bars/restaurants really local to me are Jose O'Sheas and the new Old Chicago's!

Call me nuts, but I SO wish I was in Colorado right now. I'm such a snow freak, and Cincinnati isn't seeing squat this year.

I don't know much about Denver... but getting blasted by monumental blizzards is a huge plus for me! Lovely home you have there.
