The American Capital, Washington DC //rally to restore sanity and more

Yesterday, the Mrs. and I rode the free Huffington Post buses down to DC for the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear, hosted by Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. If you hadn't heard of this rally, it was one inspired by moderation and rationality. Some say it was a response to the tea party movement of alarmism. The crowd was predominantly democrats and independents, with a small republican presence. Unfortunately, the rally was so unbelievably crowded that it was very difficult to enjoy. We walked around for 2 hours trying to find a spot where we could see and/or hear something, but eventually just got so frustrated that we left. The media is reporting as many as 250,000 showed up, much more than the 60,000 permit allowed. I combined those shots with my previous visit a couple weeks ago, enjoy.

can't go wrong with a sabotai photo thread. Awesome selection of shots. I enjoyed reading the signs at the rally.

Great thread!

I really like the way you have interchanged to 2 different series.

It's probably because 90% of people at the rally were not from DC.

Very interesting and entertaining. So different (fortunately) from the Glenn Beck thing.

Those signs at the rally are pretty awesome!
Thanks for the photos!

DC really interests me. I'm Canadian and I'd rather go there than Ottawa

Free buses, huh? That's nice.

Great pics as usual, Sabotai.
