In a referendum yesterday in Decatur, both Sunday alcohol sales and a government change from council-mayor to council-manager were approved.
There could be some trouble ahead for the government part though. It's possible that the Justice Department could deny approval of the government switch because it could dilute the minority vote in the city. Current state law says that 3 districts would be set up, and it's possible that a minority vote could be diluted in one of the districts.
Anyways, we'll see what happens.
