It's a bit of a cruel irony that while 3 new unattractive, overbearing mid/high-rise buildings have gone up in the vicinity, 3 of the 4 corners of the College & Spadina intersection are still those squat little utilitarian bank buildings.

It's not an unattractive building, but is under-scaled for its position at a major intersection within an otherwise consistent 19th century street wall.

The Waverly wasn't anything architecturally noteworthy, but it was a character building and appropriate to its context and scale.
