^ That's outstanding!
Kingda Ka is 456' tall (planet earth's tallest roller coaster) and is ~45 miles from lower manhattan and ~41 miles from center city philly.
six flags great america in chicagoland is in a similar position between chicago and milwaukee (~37 miles from downtown chicago, ~46 miles from downtown milwaukee), and while the chicago skyline can be seen on clear days from the tops of the tallest rides, the milwaukee skyline is not nearly tall/large enough to be discernible, at least not that i've ever been able to tell (and i've tried looking for it on many occasions). also, six flags great america's tallest ride, the 285' sky trek tower, is a good deal shorter than Kingda Ka, so that doesn't help matters.
