Wow, I'm surprised to see this thread still going.
Glad you guys are enjoying it though!

On most photography sites I've seen, they're always pressing ultra wide angle zooms for street photography, but I much prefer the compression of telephoto zooms, especially when the subject is people in the urban environment. One of the things I really struggle with, though, is balancing not wanting to stand out too much in a crowd while still getting the shots I want. I have a Canon M6 and use an adapter for L glass (both a speedbooster and the regular Canon adapter). Do you think the 24-105 on a crop sensor is enough reach to achieve the level of subject isolation I see in these shots? Or do I need to step up to the ~250-300mm range?

I usually only take 2 lenses with me: an all-purpose 18-135mm, and a 35mm for the handheld night shots. Most of the "compressed" shots are probably taken somewhere in the 55mm to 135mm range then - so you should be in good shape to get a decent telephoto effect with a <105mm. I like to shoot from a distance, but not
too distant.
If you're able to look up the EXIF data, you should actually be able to see the focal length of each shot if you wanted a reference.
