Come on, let's listen to Jigs & Reels and go for a Sunday drive. ;-) Downtown to Mount Pearl to visit my folks.

Not my city, but my former home province, and a place I have been to a few times,
so here is a sight you don't see everyday (this is near Corner Brook NL):

here's a really cool video using one of those remote mini-helicopters. Around 8:40 in the video it shoots up about 1000ft right in the middle of downtown.

^ That's really beautiful, but too bad the picture is so fluttery.

We finally have Ayreonaut back in St. John's - and he, jeddy1989 and I live on the same block. We had him over for beers last night and then went downtown to his (second?) favourite watering hole, Yellowbelly Brewery.

We were going to go to Martini Bar to try to track down some figure skaters, but instead we tried to go to Franklin but it's been turned into a restaurant and was just closing when we got there at 2:30 a.m. So it was off to Grapevine. Anyhow, point is you get some of the more mature, sophisticated bars.

When I lived in Cape Town, you'd sometimes see the clouds coming over Table Mountain like that. It was referred to as the "Table cloth".

not in Canada, but close enough to Niagara/Toronto that we should just adopt it!
and hey the video shows a few seconds of Niagara Falls (near my hometown)

where I'm proud to say I earned my post-secondary: Buffalo, NY

Another great year for the Quebec City's beer festival (Festibière).

Here's a brief video put together by the festival's marketing team:

Cool silent video of Quebec City from the 40's which the CBC recently dug up from its archives.

I wanted to go for a walk, but it was too miserable - so I went for a drive and quick little jaunt around Signal Hill at 5:30 a.m. this morning.

Here's the trip from my house to Signal Hill and back.

This is looking north towards Penticton from the See Ya Later winery which is south of the city. The lake in the foreground is Lake Skaha with Penticton on its far shore. Just visible beyond the city is Okanagan Lake to the north of the city.
