Walking around Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood.

It was a nice day, so I went out and shot a few in one of my favorite hoods.

Beautiful place to be. Thanks for the photos. Ive got a friend who goes to Carnegie Mellon and maybe I can use that as an excuse to visit the city. I always love me some old eastern cities, they have a great vibe to em.

They're beginning to. PA just passed legislation to give movie companies big tax breaks, which previously lacked, and turned companies away. They are also currently building the largest post production studio outside of LA, right in the middle of the Strip District.

Smart People and Zack and Mira Make a Porno(no, it's not really a porn) are two movies I can think of off hand that were recently filmed in the Burgh. Oh, and Mysteries of Pittsburgh(Based on a book of the same title) should be coming out soon.

You beat me to the punch, I was about to say Smart People. I just seen it the other day, and at first I thought it could have been Philly. The homes that the family lived in looked very similar to a neighborhood where I stayed at this Bed & Breakfast in Philly. It was just two or three miles west of the University City.
Nice neighborhood, but I heard it got really bad further up the road on that trolley route.

BTW, loved the photos Mr Herodotus, good job as always.

I did a photo thread on the neighborhood the "Smart People" lived in a couple months ago (including the house)... it's called Friendship, if you're interested.
