the venue looks pretty cool from regions field. will be cool seeing people in the outfield watching games from their balconies and the pool deck.

dayum..is it a prison. Really it is extremely ugly there is nothing about it that would invite anyone in. In this day and time horrible architecture or the lack of any architecture should not be allowed but every city continues to get it.

I wish I could tell you that it is a preliminary design, but I can't. I think they were looking for something functional and nothing more.

the location of this project seems weird to me as well.

it's not really near any of the other new residential projects downtown. instead, it's bordered by UAB and a lot of fast food businesses.

a newer picture of the City Center project on Arrington and 7th Avenue S. I think it looks a little better, but still.

I think it looks a lot better compared to the initial render. Theu must've been reading boards like this and went back to the drawing board because I dont think anyone liked it at first.

If I recall correctly, Del Marsh said that the extension would only be brought up in the new session (one of those 'emergency' sessions). So, if I remember correctly, the 1 year extension wasn't even meant to be considered in the Senate during the regular session.

Fingers crossed

Fingers crossed indeed. It's going to be a shit show if it isn't.

Del Marsh is either looking to get approval for one of his pet projects or just wanting to put the brakes on redevelopment and growth for a majority black and democratic city. Taking down the rest of the state is necessary and acceptable collateral damage.

More Flights From BHM to Vegas

They'll only extent to August, but at least this will allow for a couple more cities that a flier form BHM can reach via Southwest, and also add to BHM's passenger #s.

If Bayer plans to build something even a quarter the size of The Summit, something will have to be down with the 280/459 interchange. There is just no way that the current intersection with 280 and The Summit can handle another major development.

Can you say "this corridor needs mass transit"?

But with Bayer, you know it is going to be something big. I'm guessing at least part of it will be a luxury hotel, but with that being such a prime location and the last undeveloped corner - I feel like some first to Alabama entity will want to locate there, something they've already got their eye on when moving forward and buying the property.

Maybe they can add a couple more lanes so people can turn left easier and/or make another couple of roads out the other side.

They have talked about another flyover...but I don't know if that would help.
