Nice pictures! I'm surprised to see that the planes are so close to Downtown. Isn't there any worry about some malfunction or mistake made on takeoff and the plane going down right in the middle of Downtown?

Those are great. It really is surprising how low the plane is.

Far be it from me to give Dallas any love during the season but Klyde Warren Park...that's a great move.

Dallas Love is the city's old airport that was supposed to be retired after DFW International opened in 1974. But, Southwest Airlines refused to move and it has remained in use ever since. And since a new terminal opened a couple years ago, and all flight restrictions were removed, it has been booming.

The flight paths do come uncomfortably close to downtown, but so far, so good.

I love that park they built over IH30 through downtown. Took the family there one year and there was something for everyone to do. I wish Austin will do something similar to IH35 through downtown Austin to better connect east and downtown. Great pictures BTW

Superb photos. It looks like alot of construction. The park above the freeway was a fantastic addition and I love the Arts District. Such a beautiful addition to downtown Dallas.

Cool pics but why just outside downtown does Dallas look so sparse?
Is that part of the river flood plain?

Yes.

South Dallas in general has always been sparsely populated compared to North & old East Dallas because of the Trinity River flood plain. West Dallas is mostly industrial with some commercial & residential mixed in.

^^ Thanks for the response.
It's something I noticed even going back with the opening scenes of the Dallas TV show.

There is also flood plain, this is where the massive Trinity River Project is happening. Park space.
