Nelson, BC - Queen City of the Kootenays + Kaslo

About midway between Vancouver and Calgary (7hrs each way) lies the most beautiful Nelson and the majestic Kootnaneys.

If you are ever in or near this place, do yourself a favour and go exploring.

Enjoy

A former silver town that boomed and busted (by fire, flood and repent)

Can anyone tell me who designed this and what this is?

Kaslo

Surrounding areas

Back to Nelson

So many bikers there.

Even a rally!

Later Nelson Muntz

Nice photos.

I've always wanted to drive the International Selkirk Loop round trip from Sandpoint, Idaho to Nelson, which just happen to be Sister Cities. This thread is motivation!

Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse

Nice pictures!

7 hours to Calgary or to Vancouver? How far is it to smaller cities like Kamloops or Cranbrook?

Great photos. I was there last year. It’s definitely one of Canada’s best little cities.
